What a fantastic day - I was blown away by the detail that Lauren and Chris had thought about.  A photographers dream! In a twist on an old idea Lauren had sneakily booked a gorgeous VW Camper van from Moonstruck to bring Chris to the venue.  The wedding venue; The Moat house in Acton Trussell is  simply stunning and with the wisteria out and the sun shining we were able to use this backdrop to good effect. Our only small problem was the one uninvited guest...a very territorial male swan guarding his good lady and nest of eggs.  Apparently she has now had the cygnets so To View More >>

Photography workshops are popping up all over the place.  The chance to meet with fellow photographers and unleash your creativity on a styled shoot sounds great in essence, but who do you trust with your time and money? After much deliberation I picked a workshop run by Jonny Draper held at Owen House Wedding Barn.  I definitely made the right choice. The location was stunning.  Lighting by The Word is Love and Luminate was quirky and really made the venue 'pop'.  The room was staged by Red Floral and was phenomenal. Always an extra special treat when your friends ask them to shoot their wedding.  Chrissy and Alex got married just before Christmas at the Plough and Harrow in Birmingham. What a peaky blinding day! Chrissy looked stunning, she totally nailed the Hollywood glamour with red petticoat, matching lipstick and Vivienne Westwood shoes (heels and flats - I'll have you know).  The retro bridesmaid dresses and gents in their tweed suits looked incredible and their two lads were the epitome of cool. Ooh - look out for Chrissy's family tradition of pinning cash to the bride - I am thinking this To View More >>

I thought I'd share a few of the photos I took and later edited at Amy and Tom's wedding in March of this year when I had the chance to second shoot for the lovely Lisa Carpenter. I do love second shooting as it gives the chance to hunt for quirky angles and beautiful shots that differ to those of the main photographer. At my very first second shoot I stood directly behind the main photographer and mirrored their shots, but I quickly learnt the 'art' is to offer a completely new set of eyes and images. It's always a joy to shoot at Curradine barns and this was no different with all it's architectural To View More >>
